I. What is VINNATE® SA-3500?
VINNATE® SA-3500 is a spray-dried, free-flowing functional polymer powder produced from a styrene/acrylic copolymer emulsion. Upon mixing with water, it redisperses to form a stable polymer dispersion, delivering the following core performance benefits:
High Adhesive Strength
Tested in accordance with JG/T 157-2009 (referencing ISO 4624), the 14-day early tensile adhesive strength of VINNATE® SA-3500 in exterior wall putty applications exceeds 0.7 MPa, significantly outperforming standard specifications and effectively minimizing the risk of detachment during construction.
Superior Water Resistance
By forming a dense polymer film within the mortar matrix, VINNATE® SA-3500 substantially lowers capillary water absorption. After a 96-hour continuous water resistance test, the surface shows zero yellowing, chalking, or blistering. Its exceptional moisture resistance ensures long-term performance stability in humid or immersed environments, such as bathrooms, exterior walls, and roofs.
Outstanding Weatherability
The styrene-acrylic copolymer structure provides VINNATE® SA-3500 with inherent UV resistance, offering weatherability superior to standard VAE and SBR powders. It effectively delays the performance degradation of mortar layers in outdoor applications, preserving a fresh decorative appearance over time.
Excellent Workability
VINNATE® SA-3500 imparts superior handling properties to dry-mix mortars. It reduces mixing effort, ensures smooth troweling, and provides ample open time, significantly improving site efficiency while delivering a smooth, consistent surface finish.
II. Why Do Exterior Wall Systems Need VINNATE® SA-3500?
Exterior walls face constant environmental stress:
Thermal Shock: Surface temperatures can reach up to 70°C under direct summer sunlight and drop below -10°C in winter. Thermal expansion and contraction force every joint to continuously expand and contract.
- Rainwater Ingress: Annual precipitation reaching hundreds or thousands of millimeters continuously penetrates the capillary pores of the wall.
- UV Radiation: 365 days of uninterrupted radiation accelerate the aging and chalking of polymeric materials.
Substrate Deformation: Structural settlement and thermal stress induce cracking that migrates from the interior to the exterior.
- When your exterior wall projects face the dual threat of moisture exposure and UV radiation, you need a solution built with dual resistance genes—water resistance and weatherability. That is precisely the positioning of VINNATE® SA-3500.

III. Application Scenarios
VINNATE® SA-3500 is formulated for high-durability exterior wall applications across the following areas:
Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS / ETICS): Applied in insulation board adhesive mortars and render/anti-crack mortars, providing a protective layer with high bond strength and water resistance.
Exterior Wall Putty: Used in waterproof wall putties and leveling putties to boost adhesion, prevent chalking/flaking, and create a solid substrate for decorative coatings.
Decorative Textured Mortars: Imparts superior weatherability to textured coatings, ensuring long-lasting, fade-resistant decorative effects.
Dry-Powder Exterior Paints: Serves as the primary film-forming binder in dry-powder exterior paints, delivering excellent adhesion, scrub resistance, non-yellowing UV resistance, and rain washability.
High-Grade Tile Adhesives: Meets long-term structural bonding safety requirements for large-format tiles and natural stone in outdoor environments.
IV. How to Use VINNATE® SA-3500
Recommended Dosage: 1.0% to 4.0% based on total dry-mix weight. Exact dosage should be optimized through laboratory trial formulations based on performance requirements.
Standard Operational Process
Dosing: Weigh aggregates (sand), cementitious materials (cement), VINNATE® SA-3500, and functional additives (VAMCELL® cellulose ethers, DEMACSA® superplasticizers, etc.) according to your formulation and charge them into the mixer.
Dry Mixing: Thoroughly dry-blend the materials until uniform.
Wet Mixing: Add clean water according to the specified water-to-binder ratio, then mechanically mix until a lump-free, homogeneous slurry is achieved.
